Orange County is advising residents that a scheduled fire preparedness drill will take place at Dogwood Village on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The drill will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m. and is expected to conclude by midday. First responders will be on-site for the duration of the drill.
In cooperation with Dogwood Village, participating agencies will include Orange Volunteer Fire Company, County of Orange Fire & EMS, Town of Orange Police Department, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
This event is a drill to practice emergency response and cooperation between agencies to ensure the safety of residents at assisted living facilities like Dogwood Village. It is only a drill.
During the drill, we ask that you help us keep communication lines clear for actual emergencies. With that in mind, there is no need to call 911 regarding the firefighter or police presence at the facility during the drill.
While the drill is occurring, traffic delays can be expected in the area. Detours may be utilized.
