Multiple agencies across Orange County, Culpeper and Louisa came together outside the Town of Orange for a large brush fire. The fire was reported in the 15000 block of Montebello Drive just outside Town of Orange limits. OVFC Brush 23 arrived on scene to a field fire that spread into the woods and quickly burned into a large portion of deeply wooded property. The crew began extinguishing the fire and quickly began recon of its direction of travel and size.

Additional assistance was called and crews worked through the evening to extinguish the fire. The Virginia Department of Forestry provided manpower resources and bulldozers to cut a line around the fire.

In all, the fire is estimated to have consumed more than 20 acres of land.
