What We Do
The Orange Volunteer Fire Company (OVFC) proudly serves as the primary fire department for the Town of Orange and central Orange County. Located at 205 Caroline Street, our dedicated personnel respond not only within our community but also to mutual aid calls in Madison, Louisa, Spotsylvania, and Culpeper Counties.
Operational lead ership is provided by a Fire Chief, supported by 2 Assistant Chiefs, a Captain, and 4 Lieutenants. Business operations are managed by a President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary, whose focus is maintaining the department’s finances and facilities.
We conduct monthly business meetings, scheduled maintenance (details), and weekly training drills to keep our skills sharp and equipment ready. While we receive funding from Orange County and the Town of Orange, much of our budget depends on community donations and fundraising, which allow us to invest in modern technology and maintain daily operations.
Our team is a diverse group of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds—telecommunications, trades, education, emergency services, and more. Together, we form a strong, unified department committed to protecting and serving our community.
