Scotty has been a member of the Orange Volunteer Fire Company since 1976. Scotty is also a member of the company’s State Competition Team, and was part of the record setting run in the Six-Man Ladder in 1997. He has been certified in the following: Firefighter II , Hazardous Materials-Operations, Basic Pump Operations, and EVOC.

Scotty and his wife Teresa live in Orange. Scotty’s father and brother are also long time members of the Orange Volunteer Fire Company. He is employed by Dominion Virginia Power at the North Anna Power Station. Some of Scotty’s hobbies include golfing and rooting for the Virginia Tech Hokies.
