Lieutenant
Perry joined the OVFC in 1976 as a member of the Jr. Fire Dept.
He joined the ranks as a senior member in May of 1978 and has been
active since that time. Current status is rank of lieutenant. He has
held this position since 1993. Perry has also held a position on the
11-time state champion OVFC competition team since joining the senior
ranks. He competes in several events annually, including Six-Man Ladder,
which he was part of the state record run in 1997.
Certifications/recent classes attended include: Fire Fighter III
(which is now FFII), Driver/Pump Operator, LZ Coordinator, National Fire
Academy Incident Command System, NFA MCTO: Decision Making, Rural Water
Supply, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Hazardous Materials-Awareness,
Public Safety Response to Terrorism- Awareness, Advanced Vehicle
Extrication, Preventing Emergency Vehicle Accidents, and Virginia Forest
Fires of 2005/2006.
Perry graduated from Orange County High School in 1978 where he was a
member of the Soccer & Tennis teams each of his 4 years there. He has
been employed by Dominion Virginia Power at North Anna Power Station
since September 1978. His current job title is Sr. Health Physics
Specialist as a member of the Radiological Protection Department. Perry
is single and enjoys watching and participating in sports. He enjoys
playing golf and is a die-hard Orioles and Mark Martin fan.
