James has been with the Orange Volunteer Fire Company since 1980. He has previously served the department as a Lieutenant for a number of years. James is the Captain of the company’s Competition Team, which has dominated the competition by winning ten of the last eleven State Championships and eleven overall. He is a part of state record runs in Air Pack and Six-Man Ladder. James has been certified in: Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials-Awareness, EVOC, Basic Pump and Aerial Operations, Vehicle Extrication, and Landing Zone Coordinator.

James and his wife Amy have two children, William and Emily. He is employed by Mike’s Glass and Mirror in Orange. James likes to hunt and golf, as well as root for the University of Virginia, Oakland Raiders, and Texas Rangers.
