Fox Firefighter/Chaplain
EA, who is also known as Jr., joined
the Orange Volunteer Fire Company in 1963 as a Junior Firefighter. He
quickly progressed through the ranks as Lieutenant and Assistant Chief
before serving as Fire Chief from 1982-1984. In recent years, EA has
served as a business officer in various capacities. He is currently the
company’s Chaplain and has held the position of Secretary, as well as
served on the Board of Directors. EA has been certified in the
following: Firefighter III, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, HTR
Vehicle Rescue, Hazardous Materials-Operations, and Basic Pump & Arial
Operations.
EA and his wife Temple have two
children, Tracy and their late son Austin. The couple also has two
grandchildren. EA is retired after working 34 years for Verizon
Communications as a Central Office Technician. He also served in the US
Air Force from 1966-1970 at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, Texas as a
Firefighter.
Some of EA’s hobbies include
spending time with his grandchildren, nscale model trains, Bible
reading/studies and all activities at Mt Zion United Methodist Church
and Rapidan UMC Charge Layleader. He is also active in local and state
United Methodist Men's organizations. EA considers the Washington
Redskins and Virginia Tech Hokies his favorite sports teams. |
