Dennis has been a member of the Orange Volunteer Fire Company since October of 1996. He was elected Lieutenant in September 2000 and served in that capacity through 2005. Dennis is certified as: Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials-Awareness, Basic Pump Operations, EVOC, LZ Coordinator, and NFA ICS & STICO.

Dennis has been employed by the Virginia State Police since 1981. He began his career as a VA State Trooper and has been an Investigator with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation since 2003. Dennis has two daughters, Sarah and Suzan. Aside from raising his children, Dennis also enjoys watching the History and Discovery Channels, as well as keeping up with the news.
