Barry
Jacobs Firefighter
Barry Jacobs became a member or OVFC
in 1974. He is a second generation firefighter and carries the nickname
of "Jake". Barry has held the office of Lieutenant and Chaplain. Barry
was elected in 2005 to serve on the company’s Board of Directors. His
certificates have taken him up to Fire Instructor 1 along with EVOC, EMT-B,
and CPR.
Barry graduated from OCHS in 1976
and has been employed at North Anna Power Station ever since. He resides
on Landon Lane with his wife Marsha and daughter Carrie. His son, Whit,
is a third generation firefighter at OVFC and is currently away in
college. Barry's hobbies include hunting, fishing, serving others
through missions, snow skiing, and still loves being the first man in
the door on the nozzle at 46. OVFC has and will always be a part of his
life and service to Orange County.
