On Sunday morning, OVFC firefighters were alerted for a residential fire with entrapment. First arriving, Chief 23, found a single story home with two confirmed victims inside a well involved home and an additional two patients outside the home suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. Crews from Medic 23 and Engine 23 made an aggressive attack to hold back the fire and complete searches of where both occupants were believed to be trapped. The crews managed to locate one of the victims and removed them immediately. Due to fire conditions the second victim was unable to be found until much later into the incident. Unfortunately this fire took the lives of both occupants. The origin and cause of the fire remains undetermined and under investigation. Our condolences go to the family and friends of both victims of the Sunday morning fire.
