The Orange Volunteer Fire Company
is a dynamic, 100% VOLUNTEER organization comprised of over 45 members.
Based in the Town of Orange, we respond to emergencies in the Town, in
Orange County, and run mutual aid into Madison, Culpeper, and Louisa
counties. We're dispatched by the Orange County Emergency
Communications Center via radio tones which are received on OVFC issued
pagers. E.S. Roby, III is the Fire
Chief, and manages the
operational side of our department with 2 Assistant Chiefs, a Captain
(and Training Officer), and 6 Lieutenants. Ronnie Lloyd, President, manages the business functions of the
organization. With a Vice President, Secretary, and a Treasurer,
Ron is responsible for the company's finances and business
management.
The Company as a whole, is a well trained group
of
individuals tasked with responding to and handling
many different situations. Some of our Firefighters are trained in
EMS and Hazardous Materials, as well as Specialized Rescue. We
conduct departmental training meetings throughout the year on Monday
evenings, except on the first Monday of each Month, which is reserved
for business meetings. Our members take pride in being a member of
one of the most well trained departments in the area.
Financially, we are supported through fundraisers and donations from the
community and local government agencies. All of our tools and
equipment are our property and were not directly purchased with taxpayer
dollars. If you'd like to make a donation to the OVFC, our
information is above - it would be much
appreciated.
